Officially known as King Fahd Mosque and Islamic Centre. The main mosque and cultural center for the Muslim community.
The Mosque opened in 1998 and is a combination of traditional Islamic and Scottish Baronial architecture, a form of historic architecture inspired from castles and tower houses popularized by Sir Walter Scott.
Inside, you’ll see the unique charm of the mosque, distinct through its muted wood palette. To worship here is an experience of its own.
Women’s Entrance
To access the women’s ablution facility and prayer room, avoid going through the main entrance. Instead walk to the left of the Mosque (towards the back) and there should be a women’s entrance. The ablution room will be located as you enter.
- Location: 50 Potterrow, Newington, Edinburgh EH8 9BT
- You can check the website for the current timetable.
- Please check with the Mosque for closing times, as I found it to be closed after night
