An all-women powered flight, this scenario wouldn’t be possible a mere 10 years ago.
But, times have changed as Malaysia Airline Group recently achieved a major milestone in its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) journey.
On September 17, 2025, a successful operation of flight MH2610 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu was staffed entirely by women across all touch points.

A New Era in Travel
Commanding the Boeing 737-800 aircraft were Captain Noorsazrina Binti Zulkifli who has logged over 8,200 flight hours across domestic and international routes, and Second Officer Siti Noor Syamira Binti Baharuddin, a rising talent recently qualified on the aircraft type.
They were supported by In-flight Supervisor Kulisia Anak Jipem who led a cabin crew of five (5) women delivering Malaysia Airlines’ signature Malaysian Hospitality.
This momentum encourages more women to take on technical and flight operation roles.
Women@MAG – Real-Life Group Commitment
“This all-women flight isn’t just a commitment on paper but a real-life demonstration of their values,” said MAG Group Chief Financial Officer and Women@MAG Chairperson, Boo Hui Yee.
This achievement is a direct reflection of the success of Women@MAG, an initiative launched in March 2022 to to champion DEI across the organisation.
Women@MAG’s goal is to create an inclusive workplace that attracts and retains talent. The group aims to promote an equitable workforce that is integral to its Sustainable Tomorrow strategy through this initiative.
Currently, 36% of MAG’s workforce is female, significantly surpassing the 25% target set by the aviation industry’s 25by2025 goal.
With a mission to engage, support and empower female employees, Women@MAG focuses on creating a workplace that attracts and retains talent, builds trust, encourages innovation, and fosters a culture of mutual respect.
