Editor’s Note: The Home We Carry

When we first sat down to curate the pieces for this issue, we found ourselves returning to a singular, grounding theme: homecoming.

In a world that often moves at a breakneck pace, we wanted to create a sanctuary within these pages—a space that encourages you to slow down and acknowledge the home we all carry within ourselves, even as we traverse the globe. Home is rarely just a physical coordinate; it is a feeling, a prayer, and a plate of food shared in a foreign land.

This issue is a celebration of the global Muslimah voices that define our vibrant community, The Ruhfar Society. We invite you to journey with us:

  • To the Origins: Exploring Yunnan, the birthplace of Chagee and a region home to a significant, vibrant Muslim population. It is a space that has become a familiar comfort for so many of us.
  • To the Soul: Finding the unexpected warmth of “soul food” in the bustling streets of Seoul.
  • To the Heart: Tuning into a deeper spirituality during a Ramadan Umrah journey to Makkah and Madinah—the ultimate home for the believer’s heart.
  • To the Horizon: A stunning visual essay, Beyond the Streets of Sarajevo, capturing a city of resilience and beauty.

The timing of this launch feels particularly providential. As the world turns its eyes toward Malaysia—the epicenter of Muslimah travel—in conjunction with #VisitMalaysia2026, we are reminded of our unique position at the crossroads of culture and faith.

Our sincere thanks to Travel Daily Media for featuring our inaugural debut.

Just as how Travel Daily Media mentioned how we encourage engagement with physical pages and journaling, if you happen to be in Brunei, Kota Kinabalu, Kundasang, or Pakistan during Q1 of 2026, we would love to meet you for a Women-only journaling session, a travel mission board “chillout,” or simply an intimate meetup. Stay tuned here

Digital Access: Why Print?

Some of you have asked, “Is there a PDF version?” or “Can I buy a digital subscription?”

It would be easy for us to say yes. But honestly? A screen is the last thing your soul needs right now.

We built our website to give you the “instant” answers—the quick tips, the latest news, and the “where-to-go” guides. But Ruhfar Magazine was created for Presence.

Here is why the magazine is staying strictly in print:

  • To Break the “Scroll-Cycle”: You spend all day looking at pixels. Ruhfar is designed to be a tactile sanctuary—the weight of the paper, the texture of the cover, and the smell of the ink are all part of the meditation.
  • Depth over Distraction: On a phone, you are always one notification away from an email or an ad. Your attention breaks. With the magazine in your lap, it’s just you and the journey.
  • A Living Archive: A digital file gets buried in a downloads folder and forgotten. A physical copy of Ruhfar lives on your coffee table or your bookshelf—a constant, beautiful reminder to live intentionally.

When you purchase an issue, you aren’t just buying “information.” You are buying permission to unplug. You are investing in a physical object that honors the beauty of the Muslim woman’s travel experience.

Our website is for the “now.” Our magazine is for the forever.

Wrapping Up

We hope these stories offer you a moment of quiet reflection and a spark of inspiration for your next journey. If you feel called to share your own story and would like to contribute to our next issue, we would love to hear from you. Our society grows through the voices of women like you.

Thank you for being part of this voyage with us.

With gratitude,

Farihah Editor-in-Chief
